artistic, industrial, cultural and cattle exhibitions, fences, sport events, among those that highlight mainly the following ones: International Book’s Fair Every year, Guadalajara gets dressed of letters with the International Fair of the Book, event in which the most important editorials meet to put their novelties and titles more sold within reach of a great number of readers. With events like story tellers for children, presentations of books, masterful conferences and workshops, the International Fair of the Book is a space of encounters with different worlds, in which every year is choose an invited country, nation that will be topic of homages, studies and conferences that are attended by outstanding writers and investigators. The main objective of this fair is that the exhibitors and the assistants find an atmosphere of good businesses, as much for the editorials as for the anxious readers of finding this title that will give sense to their thoughts. In 1987 and for initiative of the University of Guadalajara, was created this party of professional, intellectual and comercial exchange among editors, readers, librarians, writers, distributors and translators, all them related with the same object of the desire: the books.
October Partie’s
The autumn of Guadalajara it is illuminated by the lights of the Parties of October, celebration of a month of duration in which is conjugated the culture and the entertainment in the Auditory Benito Juárez and other points of the city. In these dates take place more than 200 events as artistic, industrial, cultural and cattle exhibitions, fences, sport, infantile events, sale of food and crafts. An entire commercial event turns out to be this festivity whose conclusion is the Pilgrimage of the Virgin of Zapopan, who is accompanied in her road from the Guadalajara’s Cathedral to the Zapopan’s Basilica. May 20 of every year the Zapopan’s Virgin abandons her home to visit, daily, the different parishes of Guadalajara. One day before their return to the Zapopan’s Basilica, in the esplanade of the Cabañas Hospice, is carried out a solemn celebration in her honor, to spend the night in the Cathedral, before going back to her home.
