Guadalajara gastronomy

Has given to Mexico and the rest of the world typical dishes that represents Mexico. In the celebration of the Independence Day, as well as in any other celebration, the special guest is the delicious pozole,

an indigenous inheritance that continued until our days, and whose better preparation stays in Guadalajara. But this is not the only one, Jalisco has also granted to the world culinary delights like birria, made with goat or lamb meat, the pipián, that is one of the so many varieties of the Mexican mole, dressed with special ingredients as peanut, pumpkin and ajonjolí.

There is a dish that you can find in Guadalajara, the famous tortas ahogadas, which only can be prepared with the birote bread that is baked in Guadalajara, this dish consisted in a padded bread of pig meat, bathed with a very spicy sauce of tomato and chili, you cannot go by the region and leave it without enjoying this gastronomic delight.

 

Tequila

Is not only the name of a Jalisco municipality, Tequila is the name of a coveted drink, created with the blue agave that adorns the landscape of Jalisco. It has been so much the fame of this region, that it was already proclaimed Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity by UNESCO.

But if you’re looking for a softer refreshing drink, ventures to try a tejuino, a preparation of fermented maguey accompanied by lemon sorbet or ice, with a tiny pinch of salt and a lemon touch.

Those are the typical dishes of Guadalajara, but due that Guadalajara is a totally cosmopolitan city, you can find a big number of restaurants of high quality, that offer a wide variety of types of food, from the Mexican traditional, to the most complex presentations of the new Mexican and international cuisine.
